One of the major goals of the World Amateur Film Meeting is the creation of a national movement that values and connects audiovisual work developed in Portuguese schools. From north to south of the country, in diverse contexts, projects, film clubs, and films made in school environments are multiplying, deserving visibility, recognition, and continuity.
This school-based approach aims to map and strengthen this ecosystem, stimulate new creations with pedagogical and artistic impact, and create a national award for amateur school cinema, promoting public screenings and opportunities for encounters between students, teachers, and professionals. Open to all schools, this initiative aspires to build a decentralized and lasting network capable of connecting education, creation, and the circulation of films made in a school context.
