At a time when audiovisual archives are particularly vulnerable to destruction, oblivion, or political manipulation, the festival reaffirms its commitment to the preservation and activation of memories filmed in fragile contexts. It is from this awareness that Único dedicates special attention to archives that persist despite adversity, transforming the care of images into an act of collective responsibility.

In 2026, the special guest of our Archive in Focus section is the Center for Urban History in Lviv (Ukraine) . Even during the war, the center continued to digitize, restore, and give public meaning to its Soviet and post-Soviet audiovisual heritage.

During the festival:

• Screening of a unique selection of Ukrainian home movies.

• Live presentation by a member of the Center
